The oddly European looking sedan you totally forgot about, if you ever knew about it in the first place.
Just found this on CL and I’ve never seen one before.
I think it’s actually quite handsome especially compared to the other non-Mitsubishi Chrysler products of the time. The shape of the green house, the front end, and that obvious Hoffmister Kink class things up abit.
Of coarse the interior couldn’t be more American.
This is a bigger car. It’s on the same chassis as the New Yorker and I’d say looking much better then the Chrysler.
It’s not e28 pretty but at least it’s trying. I’ll give it a C- for copying.

Oh, I knew about it. I didn’t care, but I did know it existed.
Looks more like an early Cressida, TBH.
And in my weird little world, this is what a Caravelle looks like:

I think that was the same as the Dodge E Class. Yes that was a thing.

Dodge was just “600", Chrysler badged it “E Class”
You could even get color coordinated hubcaps like a MB:

Yeah it was the Chrysler E-Class, damn bad memory

the 2nd gen K cars (and extended K variants) really did modernize the styling for the time period. had they also updated/ improved the 2.2 similarly I think they’d have been much better received. instead they fitted it with throttle body injection; which while it was a driveability improvement compared to that Holley 6520 abomination of a carburetor it led to uneven fuel distribution and eventual piston slap from accelerated wear of the constantly rich cylinders.

Potentially good first car for some kid. Not cool enough to bring out the inner boy racer, but roomy enough to have sex in.

No thanks.
Any car that it’s owner has let rot away in under 100k tells me all I need to know about how it’s been taken care of. This car is likely a shit show everywhere.
